A dual cab conversion gave this Patrol improved versatility.  It has plenty of room for weekend trips with the family and tough enough to compete in winch challenges.

The first cut : There's no turning back.  The rear quarters and the floor were cut after many days of measuring and planning.  Nothing was left to chance, so the first cut was made inches away from the actual line and the rest was cut mm by mm.

That's the original panel from the rear of the wagon.  The  panel was taken to bare metal and welded into position.  This attention to detail made the Dual Cab look as if it was rolled out of the Nissan factory.

Thicker gauge sheet metal was used for the rear panel.  The original rear part of the roof was cut and slightly re-shaped to fit.  Re-shaping was needed because the GU Patrol roof is wider at the rear.

The finishing touches to the panels was completed by Brimbank Body Repairs.  Other dents were fixed and the entire body received a new undercoat.  The undercoat is also red, so that when the new paint is scratched you won't see a white undercoat. .

A brand new tray was customised for the new Dual Cab.  It had to look as good as the rest of the car.

It all looks good when it's shiny and new!!!  The checker plate tray looks the part.  The frame of the tray is powder coated for durability.

The Dual Cab Patrol is very functional on weekend trips.  Plenty of room for the family and much lighter than before.  The weight was also centred by having one long range fuel tank and the spare tyre positioned under the tray.  We had to change the rear springs to medium rate because of the major diet.
